I’ll never forget my first ever foray into what I came to know as the painstaking process of body hair removal! I was around 10 or 11 years old, locked in the bathroom with my mother’s razor in hand. With absolutely no concept of how shaving worked, or more specifically, how much pressure to apply with the razor, I went to war with my pesky, dark, coarse, Italian leg hairs. That battle was quickly lost, however, once I completely shaved off a piece of skin that had to be at least a good two inches long. I’m pretty sure I still have the battle scars on my shin as lucky little souvenirs from this day.
But the war waged on! Being Italian, Maltese, Irish, and Scottish in descent, I have been blessed with a very mixed bag of genes, including very thick, dark, and coarse hair! Just about every person I encounter never fails to tell me what beautiful hair I have, and how they would kill to have a head of hair like mine. But of course, with great power, comes great responsibility. That dark, coarse hair isn’t just selective to my head, folks, and I’ve tried just about every hair removal method under the sun to get rid of it!
As much fun of a daily activity shaving is, I wished the results would last longer. Waxing was expensive and painful. I even invested in laser hair removal, which the hairs have STILL managed to fight through!
One day this summer, I decided to give waxing another try. Although it can be painful, I was so impressed with how long the results lasted, and how the hairs grew back much lighter. My only reservation was how expensive it can be in the long run, especially when you consider having it done professionally. It was at this point that I wondered if there might be a DIY solution to my problems.
…well lo and behold, here I am, about to share this AMAZINGLY simple and INEXPENSIVE recipe I found very quickly with all of you!
